Say hello to summer! I couldn't wait any longer. The honeydew melons in the market have been calling me with their sweet siren songs. I usually wait until the month of June when honeydew is really at its peak. That's when these melons arrive at the store from local farms, perfectly fresh and sweet.
I start classes again today; I'm definitely not looking forward to early mornings and looong days full of sitting in the same two lecture halls again. So I'm going to pretend it's still summer vacation with this peachy sangria! I love, love, love making sangria for parties.
follow me on Pinterest! Well friends, another year is in the books and we've officially made it to the end of the holidays! I have mixed emotions about it all, you know, mostly because I'm a holiday fanatic and this is my time to shine!
I made this delicious concoction before I took off for Williamsport, PA for two weeks with every intention of working on my blog during my down time while covering the Little League World Series. Like most well-laid out plans, that didn't happen.
I've always been more of a beer drinker. Wine makes my face turn bright red after just a sip or two, so I tend to stay away from it, especially in social situations. Mixed drinks were always a little intimidating. Oh yeah, and they're expensive.
It's still SUMMER!!! August is still summer, right? Surely I'm not the one who's confused here? I've been seeing the tiny fingers of fall begin to encroach on my life, in public places. I'm seeing things online that hint toward fall and Halloween (GASP!!)
Recipe by Heather Christo (http://heatherchristo.com) Print Recipe A couple weeks ago when I took the girls to look at dogs outside the city my sister-in-law Natalie was super generous and came along for the day to help me wrangle the girls. And let me tell you- they can be a lot to wrangle these days.
A few years ago Grumpy and I were on this huge "Mojito" kick. We still think about those Frosty Cool Peach Mojitos but I just haven't taken the time to make them. After all, I ended up letting Christopher have my juicer. That thing is well over 14 years old and Christopher loves it.
